Inxight and Agent Logic Offer Solution to Enable Real-Time Event and Information Monitoring

Joint Solution Sends Multi-Channel Alerts when Data is Altered or New Information Becomes Available that Matches Monitoring Profiles

GOVCON 05, BOOTH #423, Arlington, VA, March 28, 2005 - Implementing efficient, real-time information exchange is essential for reducing corporate vulnerabilities in today's global economy. Companies need to ensure that market trends are understood and employees are able to facilitate faster, more profitable decisions. Inxight® Software™, Inc., the leading provider of enterprise software solutions for information discovery, today announced a partnership with Agent Logic, the leading provider of enterprise event detection and response software, which offers customers a unique, new way to access, exchange and use information.

Using Inxight SmartDiscovery®, Agent Logic's Enterprise Agent Server™ automatically processes data and event information from existing enterprise data sources such as search engines, databases, live data streams, Web page inputs, incoming e-mail reports/alerts, and legacy systems. Based on pre-defined subscriber profiles, any new or changed data is processed and delivered directly to systems in other organizations, or to multiple users in the form of alerts through email, pagers, Instant Messages, or real-time Web browser displays.

In-Q-Tel, a private, non-profit venture group funded by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), with the mission of identifying and investing in cutting-edge technology solutions that serve U.S. national security interests, has invested in both Inxight and Agent Logic. Gilman Louie, CEO of In-Q-Tel said, "Interconnectivity between departments within the Intelligence Community results in more effective communications and more efficient responses to deter, detect, prevent, or respond to security threats. It is easy to see how the partnership between Inxight and Agent Logic can help both government and commercial organizations identify and use important information."

Features
The joint solution features include:

  • Personalized, Instant Alerts - Enterprise Agent Server uses Inxight SmartDiscovery to process unstructured text in real time, and then takes instant action based on what SmartDiscovery reports about particular input data. Based on pre-defined profiles, any new or changed data can be delivered via multiple channels (e-mail, instant message, secure desktop client, or real-time web browser) to multiple users in the form of alerts.
  • Information Summarization - All alerts can be summarized into condensed versions to facilitate faster analysis; alerts can also include data that has been automatically pulled from other systems that relates to the new event.
  • Actionable Data - Alerts can include "actionable" hyperlinks that execute pre-defined responses at the click of a button. These links, when activated, can open to a browser-accessible page containing the data itself, or can initiate a command to disseminate the new data to pre-defined groups.
  • Monitoring - Enterprise Agent Server proactively monitors to make sure that designated people have received critical notifications; these alerts can be escalated if receipt has not been acknowledged within a certain period of time.
  • Storage - Using Inxight SmartDiscovery, all data and events processed through Enterprise Agent Server is automatically assigned categories from a subject taxonomy. Based on feedback, Enterprise Agent Server automatically stores specific data in knowledge bases, compares against other sources, or routes reports directly to users for alerting.
  • Visualization - Based on sophisticated filtering rules, new events and changed data can also be automatically routed by Enterprise Agent Server to Inxight's award-winning visualization technology, allowing users to rapidly visualize large volumes of new or changed data as well as relationships within existing data sets. The location of changed data is visually identifiable, allowing users to quickly see what's new.
  • Link Analysis - Link analysis automation and alerting based on feedback from Inxight SmartDiscovery enables Enterprise Agent Server to automatically populate databases associated with visualization tools such as i2's Analyst's Notebook™. For example, an analyst may receive an alert from Enterprise Agent Server that a new document contains a particular entity. Via a drop-down menu within the alert, the analyst can quickly associate the new entity with those that have been previously discovered. Also, with a single mouse click, link charts within Analyst Notebook are automatically updated. Enterprise Agent Server also can immediately alert other analysts to the existence of new relationships based on their pre-existing target profiles.
